Originally known as Footscray, the Western Bulldogs are one of the AFL's most beloved battler clubs. After their sole premiership in 1954, the Dogs endured a 62-year drought — the longest in VFL/AFL history at the time — before Luke Beveridge's miracle run to the 2016 flag. The Bulldogs came from seventh on the ladder, winning four consecutive finals including a famous grand final victory over Sydney. With Brownlow Medallist Marcus Bontempelli as captain, the Bulldogs continue to punch above their weight.
