Recruited with pick 37 in the 2018 draft, Vandermeer won the Western Bulldogs' best first-year player award in 2020. The 182cm speedster is a genuine line-breaker who has mostly been used as a pressure forward while also offering rebound from defence. He has played 89 AFL games and kicked 45 goals.
