Club History

Est. 1869

Founded in 1869, North Melbourne are one of the oldest football clubs in Australia. The Kangaroos won back-to-back premierships in 1975 and 1977 under Ron Barassi, establishing themselves as a powerhouse. The club's greatest era came in the late 1990s under Denis Pagan, with Wayne Carey leading the Roos to consecutive flags in 1996 and 1999. After a challenging period of rebuilding, Alastair Clarkson has been tasked with restoring the proud club to its former glory, with a talented young core emerging through the ranks.
