Club History

Est. 1870

Port Adelaide joined the AFL in 1997 after more than a century of dominance in the SANFL, where the Magpies won 36 premierships. The Power claimed the AFL flag in just their eighth season, defeating three-time reigning premiers Brisbane in the 2004 grand final. Under Ken Hinkley's decade-long tenure, Port remained competitive but could not break through for a second flag. With Josh Carr taking the reins in 2025, the Power are entering a new chapter with one of the league's most talented young midfields.
