St Kilda is one of the AFL's oldest clubs, founded in 1873, but has endured one of the competition's longest premiership droughts. The Saints' sole flag came in 1966 under Allan Jeans. Despite near misses — a drawn grand final in 2010 and a preliminary final in 2010 — the club has never recaptured that glory. Under Ross Lyon's second stint as coach from 2023, the Saints are looking to build a competitive list around young guns like Max King and Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera.
VFL outfit established 2018 · home ground RSEA Park
St Kilda established its own VFL reserves operation at Moorabbin in 2018, ending its long alignment with Sandringham — a partnership that had produced multiple VFL premierships. The Saints' reserves are based at RSEA Park, the club's elite training centre.
