A graduate of the club's STK Academy, Fincher was secured at pick 52 of the 2025 national draft out of the Sandringham Dragons. Mostly a rebounding defender, the 186cm utility finished his draft year as a mid-forward and was named Sandringham's best in his VFL debut after representing Vic Metro at the under-18 championships. He is yet to play a senior AFL game.
