Club History

Est. 1902

Founded in 1902, Hawthorn endured decades of struggle before emerging as one of the game's great dynasties. The Hawks won three consecutive premierships under David Parkin in 1986–89, and then achieved the remarkable feat again under Alastair Clarkson with flags in 2013, 2014, and 2015 — the first back-to-back-to-back premierships since Melbourne in the 1950s. With 13 flags, Hawthorn are the fifth most successful club in VFL/AFL history. Under Sam Mitchell, the Hawks have rebuilt into a genuine force, blending youth with experience.
