Overlooked in his first draft year, McNeil returned to the SANFL and played every game of Woodville-West Torrens' premiership-winning season, earning selection by the Western Bulldogs in the 2020 rookie draft. The 184cm on-baller is a clean-handed, hard-tackling type who managed 21 senior matches in 2025. He has played 86 AFL games and kicked 47 goals.
