A top-10 draft pick by St Kilda in 2017, Coffield joined the Western Bulldogs, the club he barracked for as a child, via a four-way trade in 2023 after 52 games for the Saints. A shoulder reconstruction cost him his first season at the club, but he worked back through Footscray's VFL premiership year and played senior football again late in 2025. He has played 77 AFL games and kicked 2 goals.
