Drafted by the Western Bulldogs at pick 20 in 2024 from the Dandenong Stingrays, Hynes is a strongly built 190cm forward-midfielder with explosive power at stoppages. He debuted in round 5, 2025, played in Footscray's VFL premiership the same year, and earned a Rising Star nomination in 2026. He has played 31 AFL games and kicked 16 goals.
