Read is a 202cm forward who has been shifted onto a wing and can run a sub-six-minute 2km time trial. In his second season he played 21 matches, took nine marks and kicked two majors against Richmond in round 21, added three against Essendon in round 24, and relieved Jarrod Witts in the ruck. The Suns Academy graduate is contracted to 2028 and has played 40 AFL games, kicking 34 goals.
