El Achkar came to Essendon through the club's Next Generation Academy after several six-goal hauls for Calder. The 171cm small forward played his junior football alongside teammate Isaac Kako, and the two arrived at the Bombers within a year of each other. He has played 9 AFL games and kicked 10 goals.
