About the Seagulls

Williamstown is one of the oldest football clubs in Australia, founded in 1864 — five years before the codification of Australian rules football itself. The Seagulls were a founding member of the VFA in 1877 and have remained one of the most successful and continuously operating clubs in the competition's history. Williamstown has won numerous VFA and VFL premierships and competes as a fully standalone, community-owned club at Williamstown's historic Downer Oval (formerly Burbank Oval and the Williamstown Football Ground).
