Southport Sharks are a Queensland-based football club founded in 1961 on the Gold Coast. The Sharks joined the VFL in 2019 as the first non-Victorian standalone club, after dominating the QAFL and NEAFL competitions in preceding years. Southport plays out of Fankhauser Reserve and represents the growing strength of Australian rules football in Queensland.
