About the Borough

Port Melbourne is one of the oldest football clubs in Australia, founded in 1874 — predating the formation of the VFA itself. Known as the Borough, the club has won numerous VFA and VFL premierships across its long history and is one of the most decorated standalone clubs in Australian football. Port plays out of North Port Oval, an inner-bayside ground that remains one of the great traditional suburban venues. The club has been fully standalone throughout the modern VFL era.
