Frankston Football Club has played football since 1887, making it one of the oldest clubs in suburban Melbourne. The Dolphins have competed in the VFA and VFL for most of their history and are a fully standalone, community-owned operation based at Frankston Park (currently SkyBus Stadium). Frankston has had alignments with Carlton and Geelong at various points but has returned to independent status.
