About the Hawks

Founded in 1934 as Box Hill Football Club, the Hawks were originally part of the Victorian Football Association. In 1999 the club entered a formal alignment with Hawthorn, providing the AFL Hawks with a development pathway in Melbourne's east while retaining its own identity, supporter base and home at Box Hill City Oval. Box Hill has been one of the VFL's most successful sides of the modern era, winning back-to-back-to-back premierships in 2013, 2014 and 2015. The alignment gives Hawthorn-listed players a competitive run while preserving Box Hill's century-long community football tradition.
