Martin kicked four goals in under five minutes against Port Adelaide in round 21, the quickest four-goal burst in AFL history. He had debuted for the Geelong Cats in round 13 with 25 disposals against Richmond, starting across half-back before moving into attack, and closed the year with 12 majors and nine goal assists.
