Marrara Oval — officially TIO Stadium — is the home of AFL football in the Northern Territory. It hosts annual NTFL matches plus selected AFL premiership games, typically featuring Melbourne as a home fixture.

History

Opened in 1991, Marrara Oval was built to host Australian rules football and other sports in Darwin. Its central location within the Marrara Sporting Complex makes it the primary home of the NTFL. The AFL has used it regularly for premiership matches since the early 2000s, with Melbourne playing a designated home game most seasons. The tropical climate makes for unique late-dry-season conditions.
