Drafted from Dunsborough as a midfielder with pick 9 in 2022, Ginbey rebuilt himself as a 191cm key defender in 2025 and finished runner-up in the John Worsfold Medal behind Liam Baker, adding the club's Best Defensive Player award. He extended his contract to 2030 and was named in the AFLPA's 22Under22 squad. He has played 76 AFL games and kicked 2 goals.
