An Academy product rookie-listed in 2018, Wicks debuted against Collingwood midway through 2020 and spent his early Sydney Swans seasons as a pressure forward. Dean Cox's decision to shift him to half-back in 2025 paid off immediately: he won the Dennis Carroll Trophy as most improved and placed sixth in the Bob Skilton Medal. He has played 106 AFL games and kicked 45 goals.
