A 198cm developing tall from Glenroy in country New South Wales, Hetherton joined the Sydney Swans as a NSW zone selection. He represented the AFL National Academy and kicked 11 goals from just three Coates Talent League outings in his draft year. Wearing the No.39 guernsey, he is yet to play a senior AFL game.
