Recruited from Esperance in Western Australia at pick 13 of the 2023 national draft, Tholstrup played 10 senior matches in his debut year and was rewarded with the No.12 guernsey. An interrupted 2025 held him to 9 appearances, but the 186cm youngster's contested marking remained a feature. He has played 43 AFL games and kicked 11 goals.
