Dempsey won the AFL Rising Star award in 2024, along with the Geelong Cats' Best Young Player prize, and has been named in the 22under22 team in each of the two seasons since. He has signed a four-year extension that runs to the end of 2029. The 187cm midfielder has played 82 AFL games and kicked 89 goals.
