Taken with pick 33 in the 2025 national draft, Holmes came to the Geelong Cats from the Oakleigh Chargers, having represented Vic Metro at the under-18 championships. He is the brother of Cats midfielder Max Holmes, and was coached in under-12s by Geelong assistant Nathan Buckley. He is yet to play a senior AFL game.
