Raised in Mundalla, a South Australian town of about 400 people, Hinge managed three games for the Brisbane Lions before Adelaide picked him up as a delisted free agent. A shoulder injury in his Crows debut in Round 1, 2021 ended that season, but he has since become a fixture at half-back, playing 22 games in each of 2023 and 2024. His older brother John played one game for Adelaide in 2007. He has played 90 games and kicked 8 goals.
