Recruited through the 2021 pre-season draft as a half-forward, Nankervis was shifted to defence in 2023 and debuted that Round 19 against Melbourne at the MCG. His father Paul was on Melbourne's under-19 list in the 1980s before a long career with Ormond in the VAFA. Nankervis locked down a backline spot in 2024 with 20 games at 17 disposals. He has played 48 games and kicked 5 goals.
