Pick 3 in the 2018 national draft, Rankine played 48 games and kicked 57 goals in three seasons at Gold Coast before the South Australian was traded home to the club he supported growing up in October 2022. He kicked 36 goals from 20 games in his first year as a Crow and 29 from 15 matches the next. He has played 126 games and kicked 178 goals.
