A basketballer first, his father Paul having played for the Adelaide 36ers, Maley was recruited by North Melbourne at pick 2 in the 2023 rookie draft and played seven games for the Kangaroos in 2025 before Adelaide traded for him at the end of that season. The 197cm forward arrived with pick 64 in exchange for pick 57 and a future fourth-rounder. He has played 13 games and kicked 8 goals.
